This is one of the neatest items I’ve ever put up for sale .  It’s is a period made form fitted case that was made from a original Bible.   The bottom of the case is inleted for this pistol and likewise with the lid.  This enables the lid to close firmly locking the pistol in place.  The workmanship is a quality job and the outfit has the appropiate age  and wear to it.  If you look closely at the last picture you can see that they left in the original book binding so from outward appearances it looks like an authentic Bible.  The pistol is a two line address so we know it was made before 1888.  The hinges are good and the gun locks up tight.  It retains about 90% + of the original nickle finish which now has a great aged patina.  This is the real deal and a wonderful set seldom seen for sale.
