This is a wonderful sword carried by a  gallant Confederate Officer who died at the 2nd Manassas while leading his men. The sword has a nice blade with"Oglethorpe Rifles" etched on it among many other designs including a crown. H.Hull 2nd MIDDx -A.V is etched on the ricasso. "Lt. J Phinzy" is engraved in the top of the handle so we know that he carried this sword from the day he enlisted. The scabbard has the usual Confederate dents purposely done to it.  There’s no doubt that Capt. Phinzy was holding this sword as he  lead his men in  the charge that took his life at the 2nd Battle of Manassas. A rare opportunity to own a great piece of history.
