These high grade Civil War presentation swords are rarely seen for sale.  This one is a Soligen import and so marked on the blade along with Iron proofed on the spine. The blade is etched with patriotic logo's that were popular during the War. The grip and guard are covered in gold guilding which is mostly still present with the exception of where the hand held the grip area. The beautiful scabbard retains most of it's silver plating which has tarnished.  This is a very attractive sword carried by a officer who saw quite a bit of action. Also included is his silver plated D.C. belt buckle.
