This is a first year production pistol (1847) which makes it very desirable . These early pocket models have the sharply slanted grips like the Paterson's which they replaced. This pistol has some pitting but still has sharp edges and functions very well. The Colt's patent and barrel address are still very readable. All visible serial numbers match. Quite a few of these ended up in the California Gold Fields.
