This beautiful and rare pistol is in excellent + condition. These 4 1/2" oct. barrel .38 RF guns were mfg.d' between 1873-75 with less than 2000 produced. The frame and hammer retain 100% case color . The barrel and cylinder exhibit 98% vivid factory blue finish with very minor blemishs where the blue has flaked. There's a tiny spot of black erosion on the bottom of the barrel which blends in nicely with the dark blue finish. . The grips retain 95% original factory varnish finish with minor flaking at their bottom high point from laying on their side. These pistols were all made from percussion revolvers that were in Colts inventory. This pistol is all matching with a IP after it's serial # 20025. The IP stands for ivory grip and nickel plated finish which is what the original percussion pistol was slated to be. The action works perfectly and I don't beleive this pistol was ever fired. This is the nicest looking one of these rare pistols I've seen in years.
