This is a nice looking Hyde & Goodrich – New Orleans derringer carried by James B. Walton of the Washington Battalion Louisiana Artillery. The pistol has a 2 3/4" barrel is marked Hyde & Goodrich Agents New Orleans . On the wrist is a silver plaque inscribed Col. James B. Walton Washington Artillery 1861. The inscription was done in the period of use as it exhibits considerable wear to it. Please refer to my cover sheet for a partial list of all the Battles in which Col. Walton participated. Hyde & Goodrich were know suppliers to the Confederacy. A really rare Confederate pistol carried by a Confederate officer.
