These Springfield Armory reconditioned Civil War Colt Army’s were ALL issued to the Cavalry units stationed on the Western Frontier right after the war. They saw some of the heaviest Indian fighting for the next 7-8 years until they were replaced with the Cartridge Conversion Colt’s and S&W’S. This pistol is in great shape for one of these and actually retains most of it’s cyl. scene. However, it does have some holster wear on the left side of the barrel. Most of these pistols are mixed numbers as Springfield Armory took no care to match them up when they were refurbished. This is a classic Indian Wars Colt that is getting very hard to find.
