These Baby Dragoons are getting hard to find especially in good condition like this one. This pistol was mfg.'d in 1849 , right at the begining of the California Gold Rush. All the srial numbers match and the action is good. The 5" barrel coupled with the early downward slope to the grips really give this pistol a Paterson appearance. The cylinder still retains 40-50% of it's Indian Fight scene. While the grips retain 50-60 % varnish. The trigger guard exhibits about 70% of it's factory silver finish. All in all a pretty nice early Gold Rush Colt.
