Peter Angstadt worked in Berks, Co. and this is an example of one of his earlier rifles( 1790-1800). The rifle has a .52 cal rifled 43" oct. barrel with a flip up rear sight and classic silver front sight. The curly maple stock is both raised and incised carved. It had a wrist escutheon at one time which is now missing. On the patchbox Angstadt exhibits his trademark engraved designs. The rifle has a early Thomas Ketland lock . A really solid example of an early Golden Age Kentucky Rifle.
