There's nothing more coveted in western collecting than an American made Pipe Tomahawk. This one was made by Joseph Jourdain and exhibits his trademark of a half moon inlayed in brass on the right side of the blade. Please refer to page 85 in "Tomahawks and Pipe Axes by John Baldwin for a similar hawk. The haft is 25 1/2" overall with a 7 1/2" head. This is a totally untouched hawk with a great looking patina. Both the head and haft have museum inventory numbers still present. This is the Best of the Best!
