A really beautiful knife & scabbard. The 8" blade is is etched on it's left side in a beautiful floral design and what I beleive to be Latin phrases. The obverse side is plain. The blade is still razor sharp and is stamped on the ricassco "Crookes & Clarke". They had a shop in Boston, Ma. in the 1850's. The grip is ivory with a wonderful mellow patina. The scabbard is leather a made in a spotted leoppard pattern and framed in silver. I don't remember ever seeing one like it before. This bowie really has eye appeal.
