This wonderful Confederate Cav. saber was mfg.'d at the Confederate Arsenal at Kenansville, North Carolina. This particular pattern is pictured on page 45 of the supplemental to Albaugh's Confederate Swords. The blade is 34 1/4" as it should be. The knuckle guard and the scabbard throat have matching Roman numerals XVl. So we know they've been together since they left the Armory. The scabbard has the correct original brass ring mounts with an iron drag. It also has a period brazed repair in the middle and exhibits the proper lap seam running down it's back. A righteous and hard to find Confederate Armory mfg,'d saber.
