A really great Confederate outfit that’s been together since the Civil War.  The Confederate tarred oil cloth holster is one of the best I’ve ever seen . These ’49 Colt pocket models were popular with Civil War officers on both sides. I confined by search to the Southern side as this is definetly a Southern holster.  I found only one offficer  with this name . This was Capt. Wm. Dolan who enlisted as a Lt. and was promoted to Capt. in the 11th.Missouri Infantry.  He was captured at the battle of Helena and spent the next 17 months at Johnson’s Island Prison until he was exchanged.  So obviously this outfit went north as a war trophy. The pistol is in very good shape with all matching serial numbers.  The cyl. scene is still visible and the barrel address and frames Colt Patent are crisp. The left grip has a period gluing of a crack that was done properly with no loss of wood. This is a super Confederate outfit.
