This is a really beautful example of a French officers pistol made during the French & Indian War.  The barrel is signed "Canon Gordu" and retains most of it’s gold leaf as does the motif around the front sight.  There are military motifs engraved on the lock and trigger guard.   Also. there’s a minor period wood repair on the butt stock . The raised relief carving on the stock is outstanding. I can’t recall ever seeing one so crisp. The pistol also has it’s original ramrod.  A nice looking pistol that would have seen service in the F&I War and the American Revolution.
