This is one of the best Golden Age Kentucky's you'll find for sale today. I've had it in my personal collection for many years. It's signed on it's 42" .54 cal barrel " J. Gonter ". He was one of the master's of the Golden Age of Kentucky rifle making. This gun has some of the most beautiful relief rococo carving you'll ever see and it also has incised carving running down the forestock. The gun started life as a flintlock and was converted to percussion in it's period of use. The lock is signed Jas. Golcher. The stock is all original with no replacement wood and an absolutely wonderful patina. The Best of the Best.
