This is a totally correct early first model 1873 with no upgrades. It's in the most sought after serial range of 21,000's. Of the 22 documented carbines turned into Springfield Armory for repairs after the Battle of the Little Big Horn 10 were in the 21,000 serial range. Notice that the date they were damaged is the date of the Battle of the Little Big Horn (6/25/76). The carbine has a nice overall even patina. The bore still has some shine to it and good rifling. The stock exhibits two good cartouches. A very desirable carbine!
